KELLOGG CONSOLIDATES U.S. ADVERTISING WITH LEO BURNETT

Kellogg USA, based in Battle Creek, MI, has consolidated its U.S. advertising with Chicago-based Leo Burnett. Previously advertising had been split between Leo Burnett and J. Walter Thompson of New York. Brands currently with JWT, including Corn Flakes, Honey Crunch Corn Flakes, Country Inn Specialties, Crispix, Raisin Bran, Raisin Bran Crunch, Smart Start and Special K, will shift to Leo Burnett over the next few months. According to Jacki Nelson, manager of media relations and product publicity for Toronto-based Kellogg Canada, the consolidation in the U.S. will not affect JWT's relationship with Kellogg in Canada. JWT will also continue working with Kellogg International in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and Latin America. Kellogg's relationship with Burrell Communications Group of Chicago, which handles Kellogg's African American advertising in the U.S, also will not be affected by the consolidation.
