NOKIA CURLS ONLINE
By Adnews Staff
Nokia Canada, based in Ajax, Ontario, the title sponsor of the Nokia Brier taking place March 3 to 11, has launched an interactive online curling game called Nokia Rocks! Developed by Medium One Productions of Toronto, the game is intended to target a "new generation of curlers". According to Douglas Dawson, manger of corporate communications for Nokia, the company is trying to make curling cool with today's "digital youth." The game is part of a seven-week contest. To enter, contestants visit Nokiabrier.ca and play the game. Weekly draws will award players Nokia 5100 series phones with 150 minutes of free air time and Nokia Brier apparel. The grand prize is a Nokia 8200 series phone, airtime and a limited edition Nokia Brier Pea Coat and fleece. The grand prize winner will be the player with the highest cumulative score as of April 6, the contest's closing date. An online ad campaign from TBWA/Chiat/Day of Toronto is promoting the Nokia Rocks! contest, which began on Friday. Communications efforts, handled in-house, will also promote the game. Media relations are being handled by Nokia in conjunction with National Public Relations of Toronto, Nokia's PR agency-of-record.
