MARKETING STORE TAKES THE LEAD ON MCDONALD'S ACCOUNT

The Toronto office of The Marketing Store Worldwide, which opened last year, has been named the lead promotional agency in Canada for Toronto-based McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited. McDonald's North American promotional programs, including those for Canada, were previously handled by the Chicago office of The Marketing Store Worldwide and Simon Marketing, also of Chicago. Rem Langan, vice-president of marketing for McDonald's, said that as The Marketing Store has expanded in Canada, McDonald's has expanded its involvement with the agency. The agency will be responsible for the development and execution of McDonald's promotional needs on a national and regional basis. The burger chain will also continue to work with Simon Marketing on other programs. Heading the McDonald's account staff at The Marketing Store Worldwide's Toronto office is Dennis Irwin, newly-hired as vice-president of retail marketing. Irwin joins the agency from McDonald's Canada where he served as senior director of marketing.
