THOMSON SELLS CHRONICLE-JOURNAL TO HORIZON

The Thomson Corporation of Toronto has sold The Chronicle-Journal to Horizon Operations (Canada) Ltd. of Kelowna, BC. Financial details are unknown. The Chronicle-Journal is published seven day a week, serving the Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario regions. The community daily has an average circulation of 33,000 on weekdays and 40,000 on Saturdays. Included in the sale are the Chronicle-Journal's commercial printing and regional distribution services. Horizon publishes 75 daily and community newspapers in Canada and the United States.
