SUBWAY AND SCHOLASTIC TO START NEW YEAR WITH BIG RED PROMOTION
By Adnews Staff
Subway Restaurants, based in Milford, CT, and Scholastic Entertainment Inc., based in New York, will begin 2001 with a Kids' Pak promotion to tie-in with Scholastic's television show Clifford the Big Red Dog. The show debuted earlier this fall on PBS in the U.S. and CBC in Canada. It is based on the series of Clifford books first published in 1963. The Subway promotion will feature four Clifford theme toys. A marketing campaign involving in-store materials, created in-house by Subway, and online promotion at <http://www.scholastic.com/clifford> will support the promotion, which will run in more than 13,000 Subway restaurants in Canada and the U.S. A print ad has also been created by Subway's ad agency MVBMS/EURO RSCG of New York for Subway franchises to use in local markets. The Clifford the Big Red Dog promotion will run until mid-February.
