CIM TAKES PEPSI TASTE CHALLENGE

Consumer Impact Marketing of Toronto has been appointed the new field marketing agency for Pepsi-Cola Canada, based in Mississauga, Ontario. CIM will be responsible for all of Pepsi's national in-field event direct-to-consumer marketing, including the annual Pepsi Taste Challenge. The hiring of CIM ends a 13-year relationship between Pepsi and incumbent S&GM of Mississauga, Ontario. Richard Burjaw, director of carbonated soft drinks for Pepsi-Cola Canada, said after such a long time, both Pepsi and S&GM agreed it was time for a change. Burjaw said CIM has already begun working on Pepsi's field marketing plans for 2001. Public relations for Pepsi are handled by Praxis Public Relations of Burlington, Ontario.
