MOTT'S SERVING READY-TO-DRINK CAESARS

Mott's Canada, based in Mississauga, Ontario, is serving a new ready-to-drink version of the cocktail, the Bloody Caesar, typically made with Mott's Clamato juice and vodka. The new "Mott's Clamato Caesar" is being rolled out into LCBO's stores in Ontario this month in time for the 2000 holiday season. A national rollout of the drink is scheduled for early next year. Available in original and extra spicy varieties, the four-pack of twist-off bottles is being targeted to social and active adults in the 25-34 age group. It was through focus groups with this demographic that Mott's learned convenience was a key factor in making a Bloody Caesar and many more would drink Caesars if there was a more convenient way to prepare the drink. "When its not perfect to make you own Caesar, this is perfect," Joe dangle, marketing director for Mott's Clamato said. Initial support for the new ready-to-drink Mott's Clamato Caesar will include in-store POS. An extensive advertising campaign featuring major media is planned for early next year. Advertising for Mott's Clamato is done by Palmer Jarvis DDB of Toronto. Additional support will include activities from Mott's newly appointed promotions agency-of-record for the Clamato brand, Jam of Toronto.
