PFIZER CALLS TAXI FOR VIAGRA ACCOUNT
By Adnews Staff
Pharmaceutical company Pfizer Canada, based in Kirkland, Quebec, has hired Taxi Advertising and Design of Toronto to handle the direct-to-consumer advertising portion of its Viagra account. Viagra is a prescription drug that treats erectile dysfunction. Taxi had been shortlisted for the account with three unnamed agencies. Previously the account was handled by EURO RSCG Healthcare Advertising of Montreal, which retains the physician marketing portion of the account. The appointment extends Pfizer's relationship with Taxi, which also handles advertising for over-the-counter Pfizer products Reactine allergy capsules, Visine eye drops, BenGay pain relieving cream and Desitin diaper rash cream. The Viagra business is the first move into Pfizer's pharmaceutical marketing for Taxi. Public relations for Pfizer are handled by Edelman Public Relations.
