By Adnews Staff
Clifton, NJ-based retailer Linens 'n Things is continuing its expansion into the Canadian market with the opening of its first Ontario location. The retailer opened its first three Canadian stores in British Columbia and Alberta last March. The first superstore location in Mississauga, Ontario opened its doors for business earlier this month offering consumers everything needed to outfit, accessorize or organize all the rooms in their home including linens, housewares, candles, window treatments, sheets, pre framed art, cookware and lighting. Advertising to support the launch of the Mississauga location is being targeted to local markets. Radio spots and newspaper inserts from MacLaren McCann are being used to promote the new store. The home decor retailer, which currently operates over 270 stores throughout the U.S., will also open two additional locations, one in BC and one in Alberta, by the end of this month. Expansion plans will continue in the first quarter of 2001 with additional store openings scheduled for BC and Ontario. Public relations for Linens n' Things is handled by Shandwick International.
