ING SAVES FOR A RAINY DAY

Toronto-based ING Direct hit the streets of Vancouver yesterday for the launch of a new umbrella promotion supporting its Investment Savings Account. The promotion, executed by Inventive Sales and Promotion, will see 2,000 orange umbrellas sporting the ING Direct logo, distributed to passerby. The umbrellas will be accompanied with postcards that feature the ING Direct 1-800 number and Web site address (http://www.ingdirect.ca). The umbrellas are intended to let consumer know how easy it is to keep their rainy day savings dry with ING Direct. Garneau Würstlin Philp Brand Engineering of Toronto created the umbrella design and postcards. The umbrella promotion in Vancouver follows a similar program that ran in the Toronto market earlier this month. A "garden like" couple dressed in orange, distributed boxes of Dutch tulip bulbs. The bulb promotion, also in support of ING's Investment Saving Account, informed consumers to plant their money with ING Direct and watch it grow.
