NBA SLAM DUNKS INTERACTIVE PROMOTION ON-AIR AND ONLINE
By Adnews Staff
The National Basketball Association has launched an interactive promotion across Canada targeting new and developing basketball fans. The "Play NBA Trivia Challenge" is running on-air during national broadcasts of NBA games on CTV and TSN as well as online at <http://www.nba.com/canada>. The trivia challenge launched Tuesday with the start of the NBA season and is scheduled to run until the end of the playoffs in the spring. The on-air component will feature a trivia question during each half of the game telecasts. Viewers who call the toll-free number and correctly answer the question will receive one of five NBA prize packs and one of 100 ballots for the grand prize draw. Online, users collect points by answering a set of trivia questions within a set time limit. Points will count as one ballot in weekly random draws and as an equal number of ballots in the grand prize draw. Eight grand prize draws (four for each component) are scheduled over the course of the season. The first grand prize draws will take place on Dec. 8 (television) and Dec. 5 (online). A 30-second radio spot in the Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton markets and a 30-second television spot on TSN and CTV will support the challenge. Encore Encore Strategic Marketing developed the advertising support and will manage the toll-free line and prize distribution. Kaboose.com developed the online component. Both are based in Toronto.
