PFIZER INVITES AGENCIES TO PITCH FOR VIAGRA ACCOUNT

Pfizer Canada, based in Kirkland, Quebec, is putting the direct-to-consumer advertising portion of its Viagra account into review. According to Wayne Saray, manager of corporate affairs for Pfizer Canada, the company has invited five agencies to submit bids on an expanded DTC program it wants to launch in the new year. A report in the National Post said Pfizer's agency-of-record, Taxi Advertising and Design of Toronto, is on the list of agencies asked to pitch for the account of the prescription drug that treats erectile dysfunction. The direct-to-physician marketing portion of the account, handled by EURO RSCG Health Care Advertising of Montreal, is not affected by the review.
