NOW GETS A MAKEOVER
By Adnews Staff
Now magazine is undergoing a makeover both inside and out. Toronto's alternative newspaper has made subtle design changes in the past, Now's art director Troy Beyer explained, but the November 9 launch of the re-designed magazine is the most significant to date. The changes come as the magazine prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary next September. Outside, Now will change formats moving towards what it calls a more "magazine-y" look. Although the width stays the same, the height will change to 12.5". Inside, page layouts will be redesigned and complemented with an updated editorial package including new weekly features. An advertising campaign will support the launch. The campaign will include print ads in Now, outdoor advertising through Zoom Media's and NewAd's in-restaurant signage and washroom advertising networks and with radio spots on Toronto stations. Advertising for Now is handled in-house.
