MEGAWHEELS PARKS WESTERN CANADIAN INSERT

Calgary-based Megawheels Inc. in agreement with Toronto-based Globe and Mail has announced the two will stop publishing its weekly automotive insert in Western Canada. The decision to discontinue publishing Globemegawheels follows a year long trial in the Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton markets. Marty Hilsenteger, president and CEO of Megawheels, cited "insufficient critical mass in the three cities to achieve acceptable profit levels with a publication of this type" in making the decision to discontinue publishing the insert in Western Canada. The two companies first came together in September 1999 when they began jointly publishing the weekly supplement section featuring automotive-related editorial, used vehicle listings and advertising. Megawheels and Globe and Mail said they will continue to publish the weekly insert in the national newspaper's Toronto edition. Additional resources and funds previously used to publish the Western editions will be used to further promote the Globemegawheels automotive Web site at <http://www/globemegawheels.com> as well as pursuing similar agreements with newspaper publishers in international markets.
