AQUAFRESH CHEWS ON BRUSHING ALTERNATIVE

SmithKline Beecham Inc. of Oakville, Ontario is promoting to consumers an alternative for when brushing their teeth is not possible with Aquafresh Dental Gum and Mints. The "portable oral care products" will be found in the toothpaste section of grocery stores and mass merchants in Canada. The new products within the Aquafresh toothpaste brand are being positioned as supplements to brushing, using the tagline "Brush when you can, chew when you can't." The dental mints are aimed at consumers who do not want to chew the gum. A national television campaign and in-store materials will promote the products in Canada. Television ads, from Grey Worldwide of Toronto, break October 30 for a five week run. In-store displays, from AdBiz of Brampton, Ontario, will support the TV spots. Media buying was handled by The Media Company of Toronto.
