TICO TARGETING TRAVELLERS IN PEAK PERIODS
By Adnews Staff
The Travel Industry Council of Ontario launched the first run of its province-wide consumer awareness campaign earlier this month. A series of 15 one-minute "Travel Minutes" are running on 16 Ontario radio stations offering consumers tips for travelling including what to pack and how to fight jet lag. The radio minutes end reminding consumers of the benefits of booking with Ontario registered travel agencies. The radio executions also encourage consumers to "Only Book Where You See The TICO Logo!" Radio is being supported with print advertising in local dailies. The campaign will run for a three four-week periods during September, December and February, which according to Michael Pepper, president and CEO of TICO, are peak travelling periods for consumers. Advertising, created in-house by the TICO, is being supported with public relations activities.
