MAXXCOM EXPANDS ACQUISITION REACH BEYOND NORTH AMERICA

Toronto-based Maxxcom is continuing its North American and international growth strategy with the acquisition of a 60% interest in Interfocus Network Limited, an integrated communications firm based in London, England. The firm is Maxxcom's first agency acquisition outside of North America. The intent is to allow Maxxcom to provide a more comprehensive range of services on an international basis to its Canadian and U.S. clients, said Beverley Morden, Maxxcom's president and chief executive. Interfocus offers marketing communications services including brand consulting, advertising, design, sales promotion, direct marketing, new media exposure and sponsorship activities to UK and international clients including Eurobet.com, Microsoft, Eddie Bauer, Gillette and Diageo. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
