COHN & WOLFE EXPANDS WITH ACQUISITION AND NEW OFFICE

International PR firm Cohn & Wolfe, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is expanding with its acquisition of Kendo, a corporate communications agency based in Paris, and the opening of a new office in Madrid, Spain. Kendo will be renamed Kendo-Cohn & Wolfe and will continue to be led by its founders and directors Lionel Brault and Yves Desailly. The agency was founded in 1988 and offers expertise in brand and corporate strategy. Financial details were not disclosed. Cohn & Wolfe's new office in Madrid is the agency's first presence in Spain. Rose de la Pascua, a former corporate development director at Shandwick Madrid, has been hired to manage the office. The PR firm now has a total of 16 offices worldwide including locations in Toronto, San Francisco, Sydney, London, Milan and Copenhagen. "Cohn & Wolfe can now offer North American clients on-the-ground communications expertise in each of the five main markets of Europe, a critical capability in an increasingly regional and global brand world," said Carol Panasiuk, senior vice president and general manager, Cohn & Wolfe Toronto.
