HARROD & MIRLIN/FCB CHANNEL SURFING

Toronto-based Harrod & Mirlin/FCB has expanded its relationship with Alliance Atlantis Communications, also of Toronto. The agency, which had been creative agency-of-record for Alliance's History Television and Showcase channels for the past five years, recently added the HGTV (House and Garden TV), Life Network and Food Network accounts to its roster. According to Alliance Atlantis, the agency won the additional network assignments because of its recognition and understanding of the company's brand based on its previous work for History and Showcase. HGTV and Life Network had been without an agency since May when Alliance Atlantis and Ammirati Puris of Toronto parted ways by mutual decision. Harrod & Mirlin will be working on the upcoming re-launch of the Food Network this fall, in addition to various campaigns for all of the specialty networks' fall launches. Two existing creative teams will work on the additional business with new hires expected to be made on the account side.
