CCM AND GM HOOK UP ON WWW

The CCM division of Montreal-based The Hockey Company has teamed up with General Motors of Canada for an online promotion with the dual aim of raising awareness of Pontiac Aztek and increasing traffic to the CCM website. GM will kick off a virtual road rally on August 21 called the AzteckTrek. This contest will encourage participants to visit partner websites to improve their odds of winning. Contestants who check in at the CCM website at <http://www.ccmsports.com> will receive virtual fuel for the rally. In return, CCM will contribute 1,000 hockey bags as instant win prizes. CCM logos and product information will also appear on the AztekTrek site at <http://www.aztektrek.com>. The company will also have a presence in GM print ads and dealership posters promoting the contest. "The targeted demographic of the AztekTrek matches perfectly with our ideal consumer," said The Hockey Company e-business director Renée Yardley. "CCM is getting significant brand exposure via a promotion that should break through the clutter of traditional on-line marketing initiatives." The virtual rally runs until September 30.
