WOULD YOU LIKE A SALAD WITH YOUR BIG GULP?

7-Eleven Canada is said to be following its southern counterpart and expanding its offerings to include fresh "grab and go" products, according to a report in the National Post. The chain of 480 stores from British Columbia to Ontario is targeting customers who are short on time with fresh fruits and vegetables including its new "Gulp Salad" coming to stores this fall. The chain is not the first convenience store to begin offering such items. Mac's Convenience Stores Inc. entered the fresh food market in the mid-90s and Tim Hortons dropped "Donuts" from its identity in the late 1980s when it began serving items such as muffins, bagels, soups and sandwiches. In addition to fresh products, the chain is also reportedly launching its own line of panty hose called Heaven Sent this month and will begin selling items such as jewellery and international magazines.
