CANADIAN TIRE CUSTOMERS EARN 'MONEY' ON THE CARD

This September Toronto-based Canadian Tire Corporation will introduce an extension to its Canadian Tire Money loyalty program. Customers paying with either a Canadian Tire card or an Options MasterCard will get their Canadian Tire 'money' electronically. Customers paying by cash, debit card or cheque will continue to get traditional paper Canadian Tire Money. Moreover, Options MasterCard holders will also get electronic Canadian Tire Money no matter where they use their cards. The Canadian Tire Money will be automatically tracked and stored electronically in dollars and cents. Customers can obtain their balance through cashiers at check-outs or through automated bank machines at participating stores. Canadian Tire will promote the program from now to October using statement inserts, a direct mail campaign, point-of-purchase materials and its flyer. Advertising for Canadian Tire is handled in-house.
