W.K. BUCKLEY MOVES ACCOUNT TO RIDDOCHDICKSON
By Adnews Staff
W.K. Buckley Limited. of Mississauga, Ontario has moved its advertising account to Riddochdickinson of Toronto. Previously the firm's advertising was handled by Publicis SMW of Toronto. The agency, originally called Riddochcommunications, was formed last fall by Brad Riddoch. The agency changed name when Patrick Dickinson joined as partner in May of this year after resigning as vice president and managing director of Publicis SMW. While at Publicis, Dickinson worked with Buckley. Riddochdickson will be working on a new television, radio and print advertising campaign for Buckley, maintaining the "bad taste" theme and the tagline "It tastes awful. And it works." Buckley's North American marketing budget is $3 million. David Rieger, vice president of marketing at W.K. Buckley, said dealing with a smaller agency, with senior-level people, will be beneficial. "Patrick really understands our brand, the cough and cold market and what we are trying to accomplish," he said. "When we heard he was starting his own agency, we jumped on board." Buckley's new campaign will run during the upcoming cough and cold season, typically October through February.
