H&R BLOCK AWARDS GLOBAL ACCOUNT

H&R Block of Kansas City, Mo., has awarded its $100 million global marketing account to Campbell Mithun Esty of Minneapolis. Also joining the agency roster is Dieste & Partners of Dallas, which has been selected to handle the company's Hispanic marketing efforts. The appointments conclude an agency review H&R Block launched in April to find a marketing firm to aid in the company's evolution from a tax-season service to a year-round financial advisor. CME's initial project for H&R Block will include the planning and developing programs to support the company's portfolio of financial services. CME won the account over DDB Worldwide in Chicago and Hill Holliday of Boston. The Media Edge in New York retains the media buying assignment. Calls to Calgary-based H&R Block Canada were not returned before press time to confirm if and how the appointment will affect the Canadian advertising assignment.
