The CRTC issued the new licences to Milestone Radio Inc. for an urban music format station at 93.5 FM. The station will target the 25-44 year-old age group with rhythm and blues, hip-hop, reggae and calypso music. Aboriginal Voices Radio, has been issued a licence for a native radio station that will be heard at the 106.5 FM frequency. It will air a variety of music, news, discussions and open line programs. The third licence went to CHWO Ontario Inc. for the 740 AM frequency.
