TRIBAR GIVES TORONTO DRIVERS THE BIG PICTURE

Drivers travelling on Toronto's Gardiner Expressway recently started seeing the big picture from Tribar Industries. The Toronto-based manufacturer of the LumatronX TV Boards launched Canada's largest outdoor advertising video board (28' x 28') on the eastbound Gardiner at Spadina June 1, 2000. The TV Board has 784 square feet and features full color, full motion outdoor television advertising screens, running a 90-second ad loop/24 hours a day. The Gardiner @ Spadina board is half screen and half vinyl, which according to Toronto-based Media Alternatives, handling advertising sales for the boards, includes the two things that attract the eyes the most, motion and color. Initial advertisers include The Toronto Sun, McDonald's and Benson & Hedges Symphony of Fire. In July, Tribar will be launching a new location along the Gardiner @ CNE. The CNE structure will have 2,760 square feet, will be 46' x 60' in size. Tribar first introduced its TV Boards in June of last year and by the end of this year hopes to have five boards operating in the Toronto market. John Chiappetta, president of Tribar, explained the company's intention is to build a network of boards beginning in Toronto and eventually expanding into major cities across Canada.
