GENERATORIDEAWORKS NAMES HABERMAN PRESIDENT

Generatorideaworks of Toronto has appointed Hy Haberman president, filling a position that has been vacant since February of last year when Kevin Astle left the agency. Astle and Generatorideawork's parent company BBDO cited "significant philosophical differences regarding the future direction of the agency" as the reason for Astle's departure. In the last year the agency has been lead by co-managing directors Rod Young and Marty Goldberg. Young will continue in his role of managing director of creative services, while Goldberg has left the agency. Most recently, Haberman was with the Vectra Marketing Group as senior vice president. Prior to that he was senior vice president at SMW Advertising. Haberman, who takes on the day-to-day management responsibilities of Generatorideaworks, said he will look at re-establishing the strategic direction of the agency.
