DRUG COMPANY SEARCHING
By Adnews Staff
Wampole Canada will have an ad agency in place by the end of the year, company president Aubrey Dan told Adnews yesterday. A short list will be developed within the next month. At least 12 agencies have called up since late last month when Walpole let it be known it was looking. The company is launching over 100 new products next year, among them a number of herbal and vitamin therapy products. The target market consists of women aged 25 to 50, a group that accounts for 80% to 90% of drug stores sales. The ad budget will begin at $1 million, with spending increases to match sales hikes. Toronto-based generic drug manufacturer Novopharm bought Wampole from Rhone-Poulenc Rorer last June.
