MOTOROLA LAUNCHES TALKABOUT

Motorola PCS of Mississauga, Ontario is supporting the launch of its new line of TalkAbout two-way radios with a public relations campaign from Toronto-based Dasko Communications. The FRS line launched earlier this week. The line gives Canadian families and friends a new way of staying in touch whether they are shopping at the mall, visiting an amusement park or hiking in the woods. The two-way radios, which are about the size of a deck of cards, do not require licensing or service fees. They operate on a short-distance two-way personal radio service that provides a band of frequencies for recreational use. Motorola's new two-way radios are available at major retail outlets and communications stores. Prices range between $69.95 and $229.95 per unit. Advertising to support the new FRS line is planned but details have not been confirmed. Advertising for Motorola is handled by MacLaren McCann.
