SUBWAY BAKING NEW SANDWICH BREAD

Subway Restaurants of Milford, Connecticut is supporting the rollout of its new Italian and whole wheat sandwich bread with national television advertising and in-store materials. The sandwich chain relaunched its bread after conducting in-depth research and development for over a year. Two new television spots began airing on major networks in Canada and the U.S. on Monday and will continue to run until the end of April. Television advertising will be supported with in-store displays and window signs. A one day promotion on April 17, 2000, will also lend support. Subway will hold a BOGO day (Buy one six-inch, get one six-inch free) to drive traffic to stores and give people a chance to try the new bread. Promotion for the BOGO day is being done on a local level. Subway is introducing its new sandwich bread at all 11,750 North American locations. Advertising for Subway's new bread was done by Publicis Hal Riney & Partners of Chicago.
