GAP LEANS ON WEST SIDE FOR GLOBAL CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
San Francisco-based retailer Gap will break its new global advertising campaign in Canada this week running in both French and English. The campaign was inspired by the musical West Side Story and includes three new television spots, print ads and outdoor advertising. The ads update Gap's signature white environment previously featured in its advertising with vibrant colors, music and dance. Gap is promoting the new colors, lengths and styles of its jeans and khakis. Television advertising is being supported with print ads running in magazines such as Flare, Fashion, Elle Quebec, Vanity Fair and Vogue and outdoor billboard advertising in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Advertising for Gap is done in-house.
