LOYALTY PROGRAM FINDS ITS WAY OUT WEST

Canadian Tire money is now a currency in Western Canada and the north. Toronto-based Canadian Tire Corp. expanded its customer rewards program west of Ontario this week, which means the frequent buyer incentive is now in all the provinces and territories. Special mention of the "Money" program will be made in flyers and TV advertising that will begin on the weekend. The Christmas campaign was created by Doner Shur Peppler of Toronto. Twelve 30-second commercials once again have Scrooge in a starring role, but this time a new character makes his appearance: the nephew. He's a fine fellow who personifies the spirit of giving. Canadian Tire money is issued to store customers buying items with cash, cheque or debit card, or to drivers paying cash at a Canadian Tire gas station.
