COMPANY SWITCHES OVER TO PR
By Adnews Staff
Orr & Klee of Toronto is using public relations for the first time. Linda Shapiro Public Relations was hired recently because the management consulting firm feels that PR would give it more credibility, company president Harvey Opps told Adnews this week. Orr & Klee runs management education and employee training workshops using computer simulations and games. It also helps clients in real life situations. Linda Shapiro was handed the business without a review because "I was impressed with newspaper coverage she got for another client," Opps said. Orr & Klee used an ad agency in 1994 but it didn't work because "they tried to sell me like a box of cornflakes," he said. "That doesn't work for this type of company."
