WUNDERMAN CATO JOHNSON EYEING NEW NAME

The direct marketing agency Wunderman Cato Johnson has announced the launch of a global rebranding initiative for the company which includes the introduction of a new name, new R&D capabilities and several strategic partnerships. The new name, Impiric, was designed to better reflect the company's new integrated service offerings. "We believe Impiric is the first of a new breed of professional services firms that encompasses all elements of the new marketing mix for its clients, bringing insight, imagination and impact to the equation - three critical elements represented by the three I's in 'Impiric'", Trish Wheaton, managing director of Impiric Canada, said in a statement. In conjunction with the new name, Impiric has also announced strategic alliances with Digital Impact of San Mateo, CA, an Internet direct marketing solutions provider and EchoMail of Cambridge, MA, which offers a suite of products to help companies manage in-bound email. Through these new alliances, Impiric is looking to further increase its ability to outfit its clients with the latest technologies in customer relationship management. A new research initiative launched by Impiric called The Marketing Lab will also focus on all aspects of customer relationship management. Lester Wunderman, WCJ's founder will head up the new R&D initiative as worldwide director and chief scientist. Impiric's new name and brand identity was created by Landor Associates of New York.
