BILLI AWARDS HONOR CANADIAN OUTDOOR ADVERTISING

The Outdoor Advertising Association of Canada has announced the winners of the 21st Annual Outdoor Advertising Awards (Billi 2000). Holmes & Lee, Taxi Advertising & Design and BBDO Canada each took home two gold awards while Palmer Jarvis DDB Vancouver and Young & Rubicam were also awarded top honors. Holmes & Lee won in both the campaign and large format categories for The Weather Network. Taxi Advertising and Design took the gold in the street level category and the public service campaign category for The World's Biggest Bookstore and Covenant House. BBDO took the gold in the transit single category for Kraft Canada Inc.-Maple Crunch Shreddies and in the public service singles category for Kids Help Phone. PJ DDB took home the gold in the transit campaign category for Playland Amusement Park and Y&R took the gold in the murals category for Kraft Canada-KoolAid. The Billi awards are presented to art directors and copywriters for creative in outdoor advertising design in English Canada. A call for entries, held for the first time, received 500 submissions from across Canada. Inducted into the Hall of Fame was "Bring Us Your Wounded" from Opportunitites Best for Moneysworth & Best.
