TELUS TAPS PJ DDB, LANYON FOR WIRELINE ACCOUNTS

Canada's second largest telecommunications company Telus has tapped the Vancouver offices of Palmer Jarvis DDB and Lanyon Philips Communications to manage its Wireline creative accounts. PJ DDB was awarded the consumer creative account while Lanyon Philips was awarded the business creative account following a competition that also included: one-year-old incumbent Ogilvy & Mather, Wasserman & Partners Advertising and Bryant Fulton & Shee. The Wireline business includes advertising creative for phone stores, local, long distance, Call Management telephone services and equipment. Telus put its Wireline accounts into review because as Doug Strachan, media relations manager for Telus said, the company wanted to consider all possibilities with a fresh look in regards to the advertising strategies for its wireline business. The appointments of PJ DDB and Lanyon Philips are effective immediately.
