OLN BEGINS TREK TO FIND NEW HOST
By Adnews Staff
The Outdoor Life Network is taking a trip across Canada. The network is searching for the next host of Treks In a Wild World, which airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. The Treks Host Search is inviting viewers to send in a 3-5 minute VHS video promoting their hometown. Although final details have not been decided, the winner will be the host for either an episode or possibly the entire second season of Treks, beginning September 2000. The season will be a co-production between OLN and Pilot Productions, producers of Lonely Planet. It is slated to go into production this summer. Two of the destinations planned may be in Canada. The Treks Host Search, which is being supported with on-air promotion, is open to all residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their resident province. The search begins March 21. The deadline for submitting videos is April 18. OLN is looking for a charismatic, witty, enthusiastic and athletic host. Ten finalists will be chosen and their videos shown on-air in one minute segments. Treks In a Wild World is a half hour show that takes viewers on adventures to dangerous and beautiful places around the world.
