COCA-COLA REDUCING STAFF IN CANADA

Toronto-based CCL Coca-Cola Ltd. CCL will be reducing staff in its five offices across Canada. The move follows the lead of parent company The Coca-Cola Company of Atlanta, which announced a major organizational realignment this week. Coca-Cola Ltd. is responsible for the marketing and advertising of Coke brands in Canada. Currently CCL has 88 employees in offices located in Toronto, Surrey, Calgary, Halifax and Montreal. Staff reduction plans will be in place by mid-February. Coca-Cola Bottling Company is a separate company responsible for production, distribution and sales operations. It will not be affected by the company realignment. In Canada, Anthony Eames has been appointed regional manager and remains president and CEO of Coca-Cola Ltd. All marketing, corporate communications, finance and technical services functions will remain in Canada and will report to Eames. The Coca-Cola Company realignment will reduce the company's global workforce by 6,000.
