Cohn & Wolfe has announced the promotion of David Gordon to vice president, corporate/public affairs practice, effective immediately. Gordon, who joined the Toronto-based agency in June, was promoted from director of the corporate/public affairs practice.

Compaq Canada Inc. has brought on a new team player with the appointment of Ron Mitchell as vice president, communications, effective immediately. In his new role, Mitchell will be responsible for the management of Compaq's external communications programs with its advertising, marketing communications, Government and public relations agencies in Canada. Most recently Mitchell was vice president, marketing and communications at EDS Systemhouse Inc., an authorized Compaq reseller partner.

FASHION magazine has announced the appointment of Leanne Delap as editor-in-chief and the promotion of Wendy Dennis to executive editor. Delap's appointment is effective February 1, 2000. She joins Fashion from The Globe & Mail where she held the title of fashion editor. Dennis' promotion is effective January 3, 2000. She is promoted to her new role after working as senior editor for the past six months.
