TORSTAR AND GLOBE INFO SERVICES GO JOB HUNTING TOGETHER
By Adnews Staff
Torstar Corp. is acquiring a 40 per cent share of Globe Information Services' globecareers.com Web site. The partnership will see the current site rebranded by years end with a new name and a new look. Positions listed in all the Torstar daily newspapers will join openings from the Globe and Mail newspaper in addition to the online-only jobs currently on globecareers.com. The new and as of yet unnamed organization will be headed up by general manager Kim Peters who is currently director of online careers with Globe Information's Services. The new site will double in size and is said to have more jobs than both Monster.com and Jobshark.com combined. The rebranded site will be accessible from both the globeandmail.com Web site, thestar.com Web site and from existing globecareers affiliates including Sympatico and AOL Canada. A recent campaign, from BBDO Canada, promoted the site. Marketing plans for the new site have not been confirmed.
