TELEMEDIA TUNING INTO MARITIME RADIO STATIONS

Telemedia Communications Inc. of Montreal, has announced the radio broadcaster plans on purchasing eight Maritime radio stations that are currently owned by Radio One and Radio Atlantic. Radio One and Radio Atlantic own New Brunswick radio stations CIBX-FM, CKHJ-FM and CIHI-AM in Fredericton, CJCJ-AM in Woodstock, CIKX-FM in Grand Falls, CKBC-AM in Bathurst and Nova Scotia radio stations CKCL-AM and CKTO-FM in Truro. The transaction is still subject to the approval of the Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission. Telemedia currently owns 25 radio stations in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta. It is also the co-owner of Radiomedia, which operates radio stations in Quebec. Telemedia also publishes nine Canadian magazines including Canadian Living, TV Guide and Homemaker's.
