By Adnews Staff
The Globe and Mail, based in Toronto, launched a new area on Saturday called Net Worth, devoted to expanded coverage of investment and personal finance issues. The weekly four-page subsection of the regular Report on Business section is aimed at Canadians attempting to make their net worth grow. It is edited by Stephen Northfield. The section includes a Family Affairs column by financial commentator Gail Vaz-Oxlade and a feature called Financial Facelift in which experts help readers improve the management of their financial affairs. Also to be found are expanded real estate coverage, a car column, the existing Stars and Dogs items, increased attention to the Friday markets, as well as a rotating collection of columnists who will cover mutual funds, equities, taxes and markets. "Business and personal finance news and commentary are a core strength of The Globe and Mail," said the paper's president and chief operating officer, Phillip Crawley. "The addition of Net Worth to the Report on Business reinforces The Globe and Mail's leadership in delivering in-depth, highly valuable investment and personal finance information."
