BELL MOBILITY OFFERS DATA TO GO
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Bell Mobility, a subsidiary of BCE Mobile Communications Inc., launched a pair of services last week that will allow the company's mobile phone customers to access a variety of Internet data from their handsets. The first service, called Digital DATA to Go, provides customers access to a suite of personal productivity applications including on-line banking, e-mail and web browsing. The service works on Bell Mobility's PCS phones, as well as on various laptop, handheld and palm-sized computers. The second service is PCS Mobile Browser, which allows users to access live Internet data directly on their telephone handset. Advertising for the new services began last Thursday in newspapers, business magazines and information technology trade publications in Ontario and Quebec. Internet banner ads and sponsorships are also being used, as are in-store materials and demonstrations. The campaign uses themes of hunting and gathering, searching and surfing. It was created by McDonnell Haynes, while Cossette Communication-Marketing took care of the media buy. Both agencies are Toronto-based. Further aspects of the campaign will be rolled-out as other new services now being tested are introduced in the third quarter of the year.
