FUNERAL ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
The Ontario Funeral Service Association of Toronto believes the more consumers learn about funerals, the happier they'll be and that's the message in the association's new public awareness campaign. The goal of the OFSA campaign is to encourage people to plan ahead and make their funeral arrangements personal. The campaign, created by Toronto-based The Brain Storm Group, includes print advertising in daily newspapers and radio spots. The campaign broke yesterday and will run across the province until the end of the month. A second print ad and more radio spots will also be running for three weeks in October. OFSA represent 626 funeral professionals and 317 funeral homes in the province. The campaign ran for the first time last year and, according to OFSA communications manager Laura Hamilton, the association would like to make it annual. OFSA produces informational brochures and has redesigned its website to make learning about funeral-related topics easier for the consumer. The ads are also designed to encourage those who want more information about funerals to contact OFSA. "An important part of our campaign is to let consumers know that funeral services can be tailored to celebrate the life of the deceased," OFSA president Michael Fitzgerald said. "Personal touches like photographs, sports equipment or hobby materials can help evoke wonderful memories and stories."
