OCCID AND BEER STORE TEAM UP TO PROMOTE ARRIVE ALIVE
By Adnews Staff
The Ontario Community Council on Impaired Driving in partnership with The Beer Store are getting ready to launch the 1999 Arrive Alive Drive Sober Campaign. The summer long awareness campaign, organized by the OCCID, promotes sober driving. The campaign is entering its 10th year and this year, attempting to target a wider audience by airing Public Service Announcements on radio and television stations as well as in all 428 Beer Stores across the province. Beginning May 1, Beer Stores will also be distributing Arrive Alive Drive Sober passports that promote responsible use, information about home hosting, civil liability, consequences, Operation Lookout and a call me card that can be carried inside a driver's license. "The start of the season each May traditionally brings sunshine, barbecues and long weekends at the cottage or camp grounds. Unfortunately, it also represents the start of the worst time of the year for impaired driving collisions," OCCID president, Carmi Cimicata said in a release.
