Cadbury Schweppes of London has announced it will buy the Hawaiian Punch brand from Procter & Gamble Co., of Cincinnati, Ohio. The deal, will cost $203 million and is scheduled to close May 1. The brand will be marketed through Cadbury's Dr Pepper/Seven Up lines. Procter & Gamble put the Hawaiian Punch brand up for sale last November. Advertising plans were not being discussed. The brand has been with D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles of New York since last month.
