HMV DEVELOPS GLOBAL WEB STRATEGY

His Master's Voice, a.k.a. HMV, is announcing developments in its global Web strategy. Working with iXL, Enso and Muze, HMV is working to create a Web presence that will reflect its current retail environment. The music retailer has also announced that Canada will get the company's first full e-commerce site. The creative design of the HMV websites has been done by iXL, an Internet service company based in Atlanta, Georgia. HMV and iXL worked together on the initial HMV U.K. website and have extended the partnership to the global website strategy. Also working with HMV is Enso Audio Imaging Corporation of Seattle. Enso is providing sound samples for the websites. New York-based Muze has been signed to provide data for HMV sites. The first full e-commerce site is scheduled to launch this Spring. Advertising and promotion of the site is planned, including online ads, the tagging of existing traditional advertising, in-store promotion and public relations. Advertising and PR for HMV in Canada is done by NextMedia of Toronto.
