MOLSON FUNDS LOCAL HEROES

Molson Breweries of Toronto has expanded its Local Heroes program. Now entering its second year, the Local Heroes program is a community-oriented program whereby Molson provides funding to individuals of legal drinking age to revitalize existing recreational facilities in Canadian communities. Funding ranges anywhere from $50. to $5,000. depending on the size and scope of the project. Local Heroes are responsible for coordinating the project, supplying the people power, arranging additional fundraising and securing the necessary permits while Molson funding pays for materials. Last year 586 projects were funded through the program. This year Molson would like to increase the number of projects across Canada. To promote the program, Molson is using print ads in community newspapers, as well as point-of-purchase materials. Bold Graphics of Toronto created the posters, brochures and ads for the campaign. The application deadline for the Local Heroes program is April 30. Forms are available in communities across the country or by calling Molson's consumer relations.
