IBM INTRODUCES NEW APTIVA

International Business Machine Corp. Canada of Markham, Ont. has introduced the newest addition to the Aptiva S Series, model 731. The Aptiva 731, available at retail stores across Canada, was launched last week. Print ads in select dailies, along with Web and in-store advertising are being used to promote the new model. The 731 has a 17-inch monitor and features Intel's Pentium III 500 MHZ processor. It comes with a 20.4GB hard drive, 128 MB SDRAM, a 6X DVD-ROM drive with software video playback, the IBM Rapid Access Keyboard with customizable keys and a ScrollPoint mouse for 360 degree scrolling. The 731 also comes with Lotus SmartSuite Millennium, 1-2-3 Spread Sheet, Freelance Graphics, Organizer and FastSite software. Advertising for IBM Canada is done by Ogilvy & Mather of Toronto. PR is handled by Goodman Communications of Toronto.
