TORONTO LIFE FASHION GETS A NEW LOOK
By Adnews Staff
Toronto Life FASHION Magazine is getting a makeover. Following the lead of European fashion magazines, FASHION is increasing in size. The new oversized format will be launched with the September 1999 issue. Advertisers will also receive an increase in the size of their ads with no rate increase. FASHION has also decided to increase the circulation in Vancouver by 40,000 copies. The Southam Newspapers Group and the National Post will also distribute 40,000 copies of the magazine through home-delivered issues, newspaper boxes and newsstands in Vancouver. The Vancouver edition will be a reprint of the original issue. Three new features will also be found in the magazine including the "Hair" page which will feature a cut/color of the month and tips from a professional stylist, "Style Points" which will feature humorous fashion moments and "At Work", which will profile a woman with an enviable career every month. Other initiatives include the launching of a reader discount program, offering readers special discounts at leading retailers in Toronto, a Web site for the magazine and beginning in September, a marketing program featuring monthly radio ads and events held at newsstands around town. FASHION magazine publishes six times a year and is owned by Key Publishers Ltd. The promotional radio ads were created by Sharpe Blackmore Partnerships of Toronto. FASHION has a circulation of 126,000 with a readership of 577,000.
